In 2004 Cambfix was founded by Linda Pomeroy and Ali Bajwa who are both Cambridge University alumni. The co-founders met at the Institute of Biotechnology during a master’s programme designed to bring together science and business within the commercial world.

Linda Pomeroy

Linda Pomeroy has worked, over the past eight years, in the IT industry primarily as a service and project manager. This has included managing and developing business with strategic partners and developing a commercial awareness, an understanding of business concepts and models and considering strategic decisions. In addition, Linda has worked for an IT start up company which was floated on the NASDAQ in 2000.

Dr Ali S Bajwa

Ali Bajwa is a specialist registrar in trauma and orthopaedics and a keen research scientist. His biomechanical work on fracture fixation devices won the ‘Kreibich research prize 2003’ and British Trauma Society’s ‘Injury prize’ 2004. He was also awarded the best research work award at British Orthopaedic Association, 2003 and Best student research work prize, Teesside, 2003. His research work has been published and internationally presented.


It is through his extensive orthopaedic surgery experience he is able to understand the current and future requirements of the industry. This coupled with his biomechanical expertise, Ali Bajwa is committed to developing innovative products to enhance the treatment of orthopaedics and trauma.
